A submersible pump installation project completed by our team for one of our Consulting Engineers, on a river providing water to a local Bergville community.
This project posed unique challenges; the river is a mighty one and often fluctuates, therefore the pumps could be washed away. The other challenge was the steep terrain and difficult access.
The solution was to fabricate a support frame and base into the rock and sleeve a borehole pump behind the rock, with the fabricated base frame. This creates protection and also prevents the pump from washing away should the river levels rise.
